Working within AstraZeneca’s Seeds and Public health businesses as an executive member of the senior management boards, where I was responsible for global HR strategic operations in 27 countries and directly involved in restructuring decisionsI was called upon to provide extensive advice to senior managers and employees on change management and HR employment issues, including the application of the AZ competency framework for recruitment, development and succession planning

Working for both ladies fashion business wear divisions of what was then the Burton Group, I developed the training strategies for both businesses and executed the services through the management of my central team of Head Office trainers, providing training to all the head office functions for both businesses including, finance, sales, marketing, merchandisers, buyers and operational staff. As well as providing training services to all the regional and area managers and their retail outlets across England and Wales. I managed a dynamic and diverse team of 8 regional training officers for both Principles for Women and Evans Ladies Wear during this busy time.

Working as a member of the Kingswood Chemist senior management team, I developed the retail and head office training and development strategies for the business and offered training services to the head office functions and the 100 retail outlets. My principle purpose was to raise the leadership practical skills and business operations know how of the pharmacists, across all the pharmacy outlets, to enable them to improve the profitability of store performance, whilst maintaining their professional medical pharmaceutical practitioner ethics.

I joined as a Regional Personnel Officer and within a year I was promoted to Training Manager for the business. Working as a member of the Holland and Barrett senior management team, I developed the retail and head office training and development strategies and offered training services to the head office functions, Area Management teams and the 300 retail store managers. My principle purpose was to raise store managers leadership skills and business operations know how, for all the regional business activities across England and Wales with the aim of improving the profitability of store performance and improving the management of their teams. I introduced a five day management development programme for all store managers in the business to enhance their leadership potential and business skills.
