30+ years in procurement, 40+ years in the public sector, working in the NHS; University; Central Government and now Local Government Sectors. Experienced in a vast range of procurements, including the setting up of the first use of an off-shore data capture site by a public body,I have worked in procurement teams ranging in numbers from just one, me, up to a team of forty to fifty staff. I've run teams within a procurement stucture as well as been Acting Head of Procurement for two organisations during my career. I've also been a procurement consultant for some time and am now tending to migrate over to the training and development side of procurement. My goal is to be the best procurement person I can be, and to ensure that the next generation of procurement professionals in my charge have a good grounding in their chosen profession.Retired from full-time work in June 2014 but available for interim and/or fixed term contract work including working with suppliers who want to bid for public sector work.Specialties: Purchasing, training and developing, EU regulations in relation to purchasing.
