As a member of the organisation's six person Investment Committee, I have made significant contributions towards investment strategy and governance.

The National Stem Cell Foundation of Australia promotes the study and use of stem cells; to prevent, control and find cures for currently untreatable diseases using stem cell technology and regenerative medicine; to build a community of people with a shared interest in stem cell science; and to increase public education about stem cell science through literature and public programs. As CEO, I was instrumental in leading the Foundation's strategic development and execution, overseeing finance and operations, sourcing funding and support and fostering a motivated and agile workforce to achieve outstanding performance.This included developing and implementing structured fundraising plans, comprehensively managing marketing and events strategy to drive public engagement and awareness, coordinating the Annual Metcalf Prize and other awards, and managing all corporate and donor communications.

US Residential Fund provides investors with an opportunity to gain exposure to the US residential property market. At the time of my engagement, the Fund had a portfolio of established rental houses in three states (Texas, Georgia and Ohio) and was in the process of investing in single family homes suitable for strategic repositioning. The investment objectives of the Fund included expanding and diversifying in the US residential market through direct and indirect property investments, utilising both debt and equity instruments to facilitate the transactions.My role of Non-Executive Director was primarily governance focused, working as an Independent Director on the Responsible Entity. Additionally, I held the position of Chair, as well as working on the Remuneration Committee and as a member of the Due Diligence team for the USR 2015 listing.

Within my Consultancy, I managed a diverse range of projects spanning the property, manufacturing, finance and energy industries, including:Government Relations: Supporting the CEO to establish and maintain relationships with government agencies. Mental illness affects one in five Australians. One in Five funds medical research that will improve diagnosis and treatments available for mental illness. As Executive Chairman, I transformed One in Five into a sustainable, professional and compliant not-for-profit, increasing their funding model through creation of digital marketing and a new website, establishing a Board, governance processes and Board policies, whilst ensuring compliance with Consumer Affairs, implementing audited accounts and establishing tax–free status. Additionally, I refreshed the organisation's branding, implemented IP protection and obtained pro-bono tax/legal counsel.As a result, funds raised were significantly increased, the organisation won its first major partnership with the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) and a new strategic direction was embedded which refined the organisation's value proposition and drove sponsorship acquisition.

VicUrban is the Victorian Government's urban redevelopment authority, responsible for urban renewal and specific development in Melbourne Docklands, Dandenong CBD, and the Maribyrnong Defence Site. As Non-Executive Director, I initiated improved reporting to the board on OHS, and improved detail in the monthly financial statements, as well as making hands-on contributions to investment assessment guidelines for the SDC, and the 2009/10 Strategic Review and 2010/2011 Corporate Plan. I also held the role of Acting Chairman for a short period of time.

The Victoria SES is the lead agency for response to floods/storms/earthquakes, and it operates the largest network of road rescue in Australia. The organisation employs more than 70 full time staff and 5500 volunteers, with an operating budget of at $25M+.I was engaged as Second Chairman just months after the establishment of VICSES as a new statutory authority, focused on maximising initial funding rounds for the new authority, and establishing VICSES’ presence in the emergency services community. This included liaising with the Department of Justice, other agencies, the Minister for Police and Emergency Services. As Chairman, I promoted a focus on Occupational Health and Safety for volunteers.

Whise Acoustics is a leading designer and manufacturer of auto acoustic technology. The company's goal was to commercialise proprietary technology through commercial partnerships with first and second tier automotive suppliers. As Non Executive Director, I assisted the Board to understand the Auto Industry dynamics, and technology commercialisation for start-up enterprises, as well as assisting with commercial strategy and equity fundraising strategy. The company was subsequently sold to a UK listed entity in 2008.

I co-founded this niche corporate advisory practice to deliver services in business strategy, corporate structures, capital raising, product development and technology commercialisation to a broad client portfolio.
