A long-term contract to advise and guide a UK ‘invention house’ for cutting edge technologies, primarily in the Automotive Sector – however now branching out into remote power generation. Crankless-ICE designed and developed an Internal Combustion Engine with no crankshaft that offers significant advantages in production, efficiency and clean-burn technologiesAchievements included:• Development of the new internal Combustion Engine with 40% fewer parts that can vary capacity on demand whilst running• Key project lead in getting the prototype built with a very limited budget and resources• Have dealt with several companies interested in various aspects of the technology, including FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automotive), APG (China), JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) and many others.I work as a trusted member of the inner circle – contributing to the concept, design, commercial viability and strategy of the company. The company has several items of IP secured by International Patents.

A challenging project to get this international trading company with links to Hong Kong and China up to speed on systems and process as they are now going for larger contracts and required a structured quotations, billing and cost controls.Implementation of on line bookkeeping, accounts and product information sheets across the organisation and supply chain, as well as integration with Amazon (including FBA) and creation of their own on-line retail platform.All of this was rolled out with only a small increase in their IT budget and utilising cloud based solutions for bookkeeping, quotes, billing and collection.

Working to promote and engage with Tier 1 suppliers (as well as OEM) for ground-breaking technologies in the field of shock absorber design and manufacturing. Working as a consultant, I was able to provide engineering input on both the conceptual design and production design of the Oval Piston Damper. This provides a unique opportunity for a manufacturer to obtain the benefits of electro-hydraulic computer-controlled damping by using a purely passive, far simpler, mechanical design. I was also responsible for introduction of the technology to TATA Group, Mahindra and Jaguar Land Rover, engaging with senior engineers.

Advising the principal about strategic partnerships and direction of this automotive technology company including developments relating to vehicle chassis and using technologies for other applications, such as:• Frictionless Braking System and KERs • Brake Retarders with KERs for commercial vehicles• Anti-Sway and Anti- Jack-knife Systems• Industrial scale hydraulic drill and boring head drives for mining• Artificial Limbs and exo-skeletons

Responsibility for oversight of the Tournament Information Service IP Network & IP Telephony for Host Broadcast Facilities planning, implementation and delivery. This project included integration and reporting of systems and processes for ITV Host Broadcast, IMG, ITV Domestic Broadcast, Hawkeye (first time used at a Rugby World Cup), England Rugby 2015, Rights Holder Broadcasters and oversight of the supply chain integration for all of the above organisations, as well as developing process to ensure reliable systems testing and operation throughout all 13 venues and 48 matches of the Tournament.

Running a team of five to support the Host Broadcast operations in support of the large numbers of international press (around 1,200!) and delegates. Working side by side with Central Government staff to support Media Operations.Project to design, implement and deliver process for allocating satellite and broadcast facilities to accredited press as well as supplemental media accreditation for sessions with President of the United States (POTUS).Provide technical support and liaison for members of the press working with Central Government Staff from a variety of Agencies (Foreign Commonwealth Office, No 10 Office, Home Office, HMRC, MoD etc.)Also designed and delivered the process for tagging and logging all media ingested into the EVS media library.That data was also available to the gallery in the MCR so that playback of any significant events or action could be searched for easily and immediately accessed.It was the first time deployment of this resource ‘on-line’ so that all the accredited media could have local ‘on demand’ access to the Media Library content which was considered an overwhelming success with over 2TB of video data accessed in just 2 days.

Reporting to the UK Managing Director, responsibilities included financial reporting to HQ in Hong Kong as well as organising payroll and VAT returns here in the UK. I was further responsible for producing the invoicing for both wholesale customers (Fenwick New Bond Street & Blow Ltd) as well as direct (web) customers using systems that I developed and implemented. I also ensured that the logistics and warehousing systems were easy and foolproof and ensured both individual and bulk deliveries were correct and on time.Further responsibilities include: website design liaison (including shopping basket), website content updates, shipping & customs clearance as well as supporting sales in their dealings with wholesale customers.

Media operations for Foreign Commonwealth Office staff support for the summit attended by William Hague, the then Foreign Secretary and Angelina Jolie, Special Envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees as well as Senator John Kerry representing the US Government. Working alongside FCO staff in the media centre, I was able to guide and direct the press covering the event to the facilities they had booked and the resources they required.The project included oversight of telephone and IP network deployment as well as developing process for journalists and other accredited media to access content that the media library was creating as well as designing the process and managing the staff to ensure that the video data ingested into the EVS video replay system was correctly identified and meta-tagged.

Working on a specific project with a French Couture House to establish operations in Hong Kong and China including company formation, logistics operations, retail site planning (including staff hire), intellectual property protection and due diligence on all aspects of the contract.

Working in the Managed Services IT Sector. Qube was a data centre provider with a multitude of high profile clients, such as the NHS, Just Giving, Jamie Oliver, Betfair, Westminster City Council and many others - I was responsible for the day to day running of the company with oversight of all aspects of the organisation. I specified, designed and led the team that implemented a new database & ERP system so that costs could be understood and on the back of that introduced a commission and bonus structure for all staff, greatly simplified lines of communication between engineering and sales and ensured that the products were profitable and costs were understood. Whilst I was in charge, Qube became one of the pioneers in the field of virtualisation in the UK and under my supervision, the team also specified, project managed and delivered the opening of a new data centre in Switzerland and updating the existing POP in New York - greatly expanding the footprint of the company.

Overall responsibility for Telecom company’s new technology implementation - I was responsible for the products being specified correctly for our customers needs and was further responsible for the project to develop and deliver the billing platform (which is still in use today!). I was also required to provide marketing support and production of all promotional material.
