Producer and curator of the Tech Cities Awards, a national event celebrating the best in technology startup business UK wide. I hosted pretty cool monthly business dinners, went on a 23-city startup tour and was a regular compere and panel chair at tech business events. I managed the print and online publishing programme for the UK government’s architecture and design agency, delivering professional advice, public campaigns and corporate communications through editorial and project management. I implemented a new CABE corporate identity, ensuring clear and consistent communication alongside outstanding new brand graphics. I managed high-profile web projects, including two redesigns of CABE’s corporate website, producing wider and better communication and a doubling of web traffic using tools including social media and a 20,000-circulation e-newsletter. And I managed a super-talented team of three delivering editorial, web, design and marketing projects. Writing and communications work for The Observer, The Guardian, Time Out, NSPCC, Shelter, Housing Corporation and C21media. I worked for London Councils, editing its publications on and offline. Event organisation alongside included sponsored runs, comedy and club nights and an annual cycle ride for MPs.I spent three months in Sri Lanka a year after the tsunami there killed 40,000, and wrote a report about its impact and the way charity helped and didn't.
