The project supported the Ministry of Local Self-Government and selected municipalities in implementing the decentralisation reform programme. My responsibilities included developing e-learning and guidance products to support capacity building in municipal planning, reporting and citizen participation.

Kosovo

ECSM was an EU funded twinning project working with Municipalities in Kosovo to build capacity. My role was working with Municipalities to support them with a wide range of issues including: Corporate Planning, Performance Management (for which I was the workstream leader), Organisational Development, Citizen Engagement and Local Economic Development.

I was a founder of this innovative Christian Charity which aims to build bridges of understanding between the Christian and secular communities of the town and to provide pastoral care for anyone in need in the twin centre. I was also a volunteer responsible for fund-raising, in particular overseas challenges and trusts/foundations..

Kainos Community runs the ‘Challenge to Change’ programme in prisons in the UK. It is a six month hybrid therapeutic community with cognitive behavioural therapy that is targeted at medium to high risk offenders

As a member of the senior management team I was responsible for all Environmental and Transport Servcies (including Planning) as well as leading on a range of corportae projects including the localpay review, project and programme management and the implementation of a major restructuring of Adult Social Care. During this time I also led on infrastructure and funding matters for the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire.

As a member of the senior management team I was responsible for coordination of Government policies and relationships in the Thames Valley sub-region including the Milton Keynes and South Midlands Growth Area. I also took the lead on matters relating to various including the then DTI and DfES and HM Treasury.

As a Fast Stream entrant to the Civil Servcie I held a number of posts in this four year period including: advising on urban regeneration policy and programmesincluding establishing the first round of Sure Start; local government policy including drafting in the 2002 White Paper and leading negotiations for the Government on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link elements of the deal to remove Railtrack from Administration.

I was respsonible for a range of civil, environmental and structural engineering programmes including establishing two new programmes and substantially reshaping another. I also led the first ever full scale evaluation of the Council's engineering research programmes.
