An example of product development being a VB.Net tool for the Embedded Software team to aid development and test emulated code. An example of a customer application being a VB.Net field tool using an SQL DB to perform functions on electricity meters and report back to the main ASP.Net based back office system.Implementing database design using SQL, improving data management and performing data transfer (importing and archiving) services on large scale databases.Working as part of a large development team using Visual Studio Team System and successfully implementing numerous tasks of widely varying technical content. The team's main project being to supply a leading American utility with a .Net/SQL prepayment system to support one million customers effectively and efficiently.Taking the lead development role within one of the company's divisions where I worked closely with the customers to meet their requirements and successfully delivered and commissioned on site C#/SQL systems. Working on large prepayment systems that encompass both code and database source control.

Working in the Software Validation department, I was tasked with thorough analysis and testing of energy measuring devices and back office systems software to meet customer and technical specifications. After successfully leading a test team for a significant product, I was given the opportunity to move into the Software department as a developer.

Working as part of a small consultancy team, I was involved in preparing information and design advice for products aimed at the visually impaired.

Developing and commissioning SCADA systems for factory production lines.During my time at CDD I mainly worked as part of a development team providing touch screen applications using InTouch to communicate with programmable logic controllers for a new Walkers crisps production plant.I also carried out some software commissioning for Weetabix and an industrial plant in Middlesbrough where I represented the company.My position at CDD was made redundant, along with five other employees, following a dramatic fall in order book.

Apprenticeship in all areas of engineering including secondments to the software department, mechanical/electrical shops and drawing offices, the fabrication department and maintenance. After a year at APV Baker I moved on to study Engineering at The Nottingham Trent University.
