About Julia Jacobsen

Hi, I’m Julia! I’m a violin performance and marketing student at the University of South Carolina. My creative tendencies led me to visual art and music in my childhood, but I realized that the arts organizations I loved so much needed marketers to advocate for them and spread their message. This sense of advocacy led me to Boulanger Initiative, an organization that promotes music composed by women and people of marginalized genders. I applied this experience in a higher education setting when I joined the USC School of Music marketing team as the Student Digital Marketing Coordinator, where I also lead major marketing efforts for the USC Symphony Orchestra. I fulfill my musical side by playing in local orchestras, including the South Carolina Philharmonic and Aiken Symphony Orchestra. Instead of choosing between music or marketing as a focus for the rest of my life, I am looking for opportunities to combine those interests in a way that uses more of my expertise.
