As the Executive Director of the Spartanburg Philharmonic, I work collaboratively with the Music Director and the Philharmonic Board of Directors on strategic initiatives in furthering the mission to enrich, inspire, and educate the Spartanburg community through live performances of high-quality music. With roots dating back to 1884, the Philharmonic has been providing such programming for the community and is one of the largest performing arts organizations in the region. I believe that community investment and efforts to create thriving arts and cultural programming, such as the Spartanburg Philharmonic, is critical to the growth and development of Upstate South Carolina. Born and raised in Greenville, SC, I earned my Bachelor’s Degrees in Finance & Art History from Wofford College. I hold a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration from Winthrop University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. My 25+ year career in arts management began as a Development Officer with the Mint Museums of Art in Charlotte, NC. In addition to my leadership at the Spartanburg Philharmonic, I am the part-time Milliken Art Gallery Director at Converse University for over 15 years. I am a graduate of Leadership South Carolina, Leadership Spartanburg, the SC Diversity Leaders Initiative through the Riley Institute at Furman University and a Regional Fellow of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. In November of 2017, I was chosen as one of twelve in the nation to participate in the Emerging Leaders program through the League of American Orchestras. My community involvement includes serving on and leading numerous non-profit boards and serves as Vice-Chair for the League of American Orchestras, Groups 5-6.
