I am an innovative educator with teaching experience in traditional classrooms and virtual learning platforms. I enjoy working with students of all grade levels and abilities. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lawrence University and a Master's degree in Education from Cardinal Stritch University. I teach middle school and high school English/Language Arts courses at Edmentum's EdOptions Academy. I create live lesson content and meet with students in small groups as well as individually. Synchronous and asynchronous tools are used to supplement course content. I believe all students can succeed, even those who have experienced academic struggles in the past. In my past role as Teacher Mentor for the Great Lakes Region, I collaborated with new teachers to familiarize them with the Courseware and Apex course catalogs, systems, platforms, content teams and best practices for online instruction. I created and delivered professional development for teaching staff. As mentor, I supported all teachers with knowledge and understanding. I have extensive experience as an Edmentum Courseware instructor with over 10 years of experience teaching with Courseware. I served as a school district Edmentum Courseware trainer, instructing others in best practices using Courseware. I launched two Edmentum Courseware credit recovery programs in the School District of Waukesha, Wisconsin and my leadership experience includes guiding local school districts in utilizing best practices with Edmentum programs.I am a highly qualified instructional leader helping my students experience success and a feel a sense of belonging in an increasingly uncertain world.
