Humane Ohio is a 501c3 organization that operates a stationary high quality, high volume spay/neuter clinic modeled after Humane Alliance, located in Toledo, Ohio. From 2006 through 2020, Humane Ohio has performed over 190,000 spay/neuter surgeries. In addition to routine spay/neuter for owned pets, shelter or rescue pets and community cats, Humane Ohio regularly performs life-saving surgery for dogs and cats with pyometra or dystocia, and provides all veterinary care for a small cat adoption program. The Humane Ohio team of 30 includes veterinarians, veterinary technicians and assistants, office staff, development staff, transport and outreach staff. In 2020 Humane Ohio moved to a newly renovated modern clinic building of over 10,000 square feet to better serve the pets and people of the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan region.

I operated the Lucas County Canine Care & Control department, under the Board of Lucas County Commissioners. The department operates with approximately 26 staff members and a $2 million budget. Our primary focus was public safety with regard to dogs in Lucas County, but we also operated adoption, transfer and volunteer programs.

Own and operate a professional dog training facility. Offer a variety of training classes and private consultation. Created a twice-monthly public education series to benefit a local animal shelter. Obtained the Certified Professional Dog Trainer designation in September of 2008. Responsible for all operations of the business including staffing, marketing, record and book-keeping.

Organized major fundraising events including the use of over 100 volunteers in a three day event and ensured their smooth operation. Secured donations and sponsors for programming and fundraising efforts. Supervised a small staff and volunteers including scheduling, running staff meetings and staff evaluations. Developed and implemented policies and procedures involving daily operations and animal care.
