In my role, I orchestrate and conduct training and on-boarding for new employees in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, including: H2S, Medic First Aid, Qualified Gas Testing, and Smith System Refresher Commentary Drives. Devise and monitor training timelines and workflows. Define competencies for teams and track team members’ progress. Coach, train, and support other trainers. Design courses to align with departmental needs. Wrote new facilitator guides for courses that covered both company and OSHA guidelines and addressed training issues that had needed to be corrected for some time.My Key Success in This Role:Developed online testing to accompany the virtual training, using the company’s Power App, which enabled real-time metrics that allowed questions to be shared across the business unit.Identified gaps in learning and training and used these to develop required competencies for different jobs, which enabled trainers to tailor training to employee pay grades and allowed for a quick needs assessment to improve course interactivity. Built and implemented a virtual training platform for field and off-site staff to ensure 100 percent of employees receive appropriate training and are held to the same standards and expectations.Improved overall test scores by 20 percent with the use of Cognitive Learning Theory focused on auditory and visual learning needs.

As my role in this, I progressed through several positions and responsibilities that included graphic design, website design, and event planning, in support of learning and development. Supervised, trained, and mentored several employee communication initiatives, including development of a collaborative tool for teaching Lean Sigma principles.Implemented best practices for HR activities, such as the gift budget and recommended cost-cutting ideas. Planned and managed the Chevron Project Management System (CPMS) global training forum, leading a team of 12 and ensuring conference planning was completed on time and within budget. Streamlined training schedules and processes, created an online scheduling tool, and utilized social media to send scheduling reminders to employees - all of which helped to increase course enrollment to 90 percent participation.My Key Success in This Role:Developed, tracked, and analyzed budgets for training, the global Forum, and other employee events, using SAP software and ensuring all changes were entered, which resulted in meeting budget goals year after year.Introduced a collaborative tool in SharePoint – with discussion boards to share best practices that enabled personnel to expand their knowledge of the application of Lean Sigma. Designed learning objectives and sessions for international training events, in collaboration with multiple key stakeholders from different cultures, and used feedback and outcomes to continuously improve future events. Partnered with other managers to improve stakeholder communication - using process improvement initiatives, such as the design and distribution of an electronic newsletter.
