In this position, I oversaw the daily operations of the community mental health psychology training clinic, which includes many separate but closely related clinics housed in the Professional Psychology Clinic at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology. I initiated, implemented and communicated improvements to stakeholders. I managed the electronic medical record system including updates and improvements. I hired, trained and managed student clinic assistants, student therapists, and outside vendors and partners. I supervised clinical cases and provided clinical training for doctoral students. The mission of the Division of Youth Corrections (DYC) is to protect, restore, and improve public safety through a continuum of services and programs that effectively supervise juvenile offenders, promote offender accountability to victims and communities, and build skills and competencies of youth to become responsible citizens. I started as a clinical therapist at Ridgeview Academy where I provided mental health assessment and treatment for adolescent male students. I also lead treatment groups needed to complete the program. I work with multidisciplinary teams and provide counsel and direction to determine next steps for those on my caseload.After working there a year, I was promoted to Clinical Director at Betty Marler Youth Services Center. In this position, I was responsible for a team of 5 therapists and 4 mental health aides and the overall mental health treatment of 41 girls.
