An SME business backed by the Business Growth Fund operating internationally. • Agreed to join to establish the first Full Time Board Level Finance Director role in the organisation.• Remodelled and set up business processes and controls to manage cash following refinancing.• Renegotiation of banking Facilities• Review of Advisor support, including Legal, and Tax for this long Term Contract business that operates internationally and across multiple legal jurisdictions

Reporting to the Interim CEO and a member of the Board, in this retailer of comfort footwear and Podiatry Services. An SME business backed by the Business Growth Fund. The role has responsibility for Finance, Property, Facilities, Merchandising and IT. Key achievements include the building of a 3 year business plan and the management with the CEO of a successful process to continue funding and subsequent sale of the business. Activity to achieve this included working with advisors, marketing the business, presenting an Information Memorandum and Data Room. In addition to this the role has been instrumental in working capital and cash flow management, and played an active role in the continued Trading of the offer on the High Street.

Birmingham And Borehamwood

Reporting to the UK CFO, the Head of Finance role is responsible for Finance within the UK Jewellery Division. The role has been Instrumental in the development of a Commercially Focused Business Partnering Function, which has had a fundamental role in the shaping and building of strategy and the driving of commercial decisions across the organisation which has also led to significant cost re engineering. This has included the development of a Procurement and Contract framework. Working within this Corporate Culture has led to exposure at senior level, and to the requirements of a large US Group. The role carries with it divisional responsibility for accurate and appropriate reporting and compliance in line with SEC, Sarbannes Oxley and US GAAP, whist still adhering to UK legal and Statutory requirements.

In February 2007 the trade and assets of both Adams Kids and Mini Mode were acquired in a pre-pack administration.Responsible for the financial management of the group and instrumental in the shaping of it's commercial direction. A statutory director and Company Secretary during this time. Board responsibility for HR.A key member of the Board that developed a strategic plan to take the business back to profit, including building the Brands, developing product sourcing strategy, and the retail and property proposition. Led a company operational process and efficiency review, to deliver cost reduction.During the first year developed a 3 year strategic plan, drove substantial improvements in both EBITDA and cash flow and negociated the refinacing of the Group in March 2008 with a £10m revolving credit facility.Worked in partnership with the Administrators following the December 2008 administration. At their request stayed on to support the marketing of and information requirements to potential interested parties until the subsequent sale.

Following the management buy out of the Adams business from Sears plc in 1999, the period to 2007 was one of substantial development and change, which the Finance Team and the role of Director of Finance were at the heart of. The venture capitalist backed business was not only a childrenswear retailer, but also a distributor and developer of brands. Retailing Adams in the UK and Eire, through stores and e commerce; being the exclusive childrenswear clothing solution for Boots and Sainsburys in Mini Mode and TU respectively; selling brands and retail concepts internationally through Franchise partners. This growth was supported by refinancing exercises in 2002 and 2004.The role of Director of Finance was responsible for all aspects of the Finance and Audit and Security functions. Providing both commercial and financial support to the business at Brand Board level, an integral part of commercial decision making and the development of future strategic plans.

Implemented and negociated new banking facilities. Produced business plans for the management buy out from Sears plc, working and liasing in the due diligence process with external auditors and corporate financiers.
