The Northrop Grumman Collaboration Project (NGCP) is a joint technology demonstration between Cal Poly, Pomona and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Student-led undergraduate program for research and development of unmanned systems. Sponsored by Northrop Grumman. Provides great interdisciplinary experience, allowing students to apply their classroom knowledge to solve real-life challenges. Tasks and skills used included:· Oversaw a team of 6 electrical engineers in the research and development of various electronics systems for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle designed for search and rescue missions· Design of electronics system capable of fire detection, radio location finding, autonomous flight, and communication with ground control stations including PCBs, electronic components, and circuitry· Planned and implemented testing methodology and procedures for experimental tests on various electronic hardware for the purpose of evaluating performance· Coordinated with multiple sub teams to ensure successful implementation of mission specifications· Troubleshooting prototype electrical avionics systems through testing and failure analysis
