Julio Pena had been employed with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years. During his tenure with the Department, Julio had been assigned to supervise inmate housing units, complete transportation assignments, handpicked to join the Sheriff’s Escort and Response Team (“SERT"), and volunteered as a less lethal specialty munitions operator for the Tactical Response Team (“TRT”). In 2009, he was appointed to the training division as an instructor where he was responsible for creating lesson plans and teaching pertinent subject matter. The subject matters included, but were not limited to, CPR/First Responder, Use of Force, Active Shooter Response, and Room Entry and Clearing. In 2020, Julio transitioned to the Investigative Division where he was responsible for investigations as it related to a myriad of employee, inmate, and criminal activities. Additionally, Julio has worked in an armed security capacity providing protection services to corporations, executives, tv personalities and dignitaries.JJulio earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Project Management from Southern New Hampshire University. He has been practicing and teaching the art of Muay Thai for 15 years and enjoys playing golf.
