Hello! My name is Julissa and I am a new graduate from Centennial College's CYC program! I am excited to be a part of the field and participate in various trainings to enhance my knowledge. I am very passionate with supporting children and youth, no matter who they are, where they are from, or how they are "identified" as. I truly believe that everyone deserves to be supported and loved. I have worked around youth and children who were seen as "troubled" or "challenging", but I was honoured and happy to work with them with things like homework, building their own skillsets, providing resources to support their needs or just simply being a person they can talk to. Most importantly, we worked together to build trust, a positive relationship amongst each other, and a space where we can be vulnerable without judgement. They have proved that they are not who everyone labels them as. In fact, they were some of the best experiences that I had as a CYC and I look forward to sharing these qualities with others in the future!
