Directed team in ensuring all engine and support equipment and compartment spaces met safety requirements, planned and executed over 90 material demonstration checks, repaired 15 Repair Before Operate equipment discrepancies, and corrected 162 Inspection Survey Readiness Inspection team and 74 TYCOM Material Inspection discrepancies all supporting my organization earning a .89 score, the highest in the Western-Pacific region for 2017.• Leveraged database and tracking platforms to prioritize over 20 periodic discrepancy reports and aide in comprehensively briefing supervisors on resolving equipment, logistics, and frequent safety discrepancies with planned paths to correction. Efforts supported timely reporting, reliable logistics support, and higher leadership cognizance.• Masterfully directed four Sailors during incident at sea. In accordance with compliance, safety, and trainings led team to establish improvised communications, regained control of the situation, protected vital equipment maintaining redundancy, and ensured each Sailor could physically and mentally perform roles given unconventional circumstances.• Served as safety inspector during periodic zone inspections, conducted regular safety walkthroughs, and directed teams in cataloging and resolving discrepancies. Team’s efforts ensured the department operated in accordance with higher organization’s guidance and sustained readiness during extremely high operational tempo.
