Software debugging, rewriting and customization of Econet-provided SDK for home 10GPON wifi router, which was written mainly of C, except the front-end which was of JavaScript. Total code size, 4G bytes, excluding intermediate artifacts. Very little documentation, few code comments, and poor support from chip vendor (since we're a small company). (1) successfully transitioned the SDK development platform from CentOS7-32 bit to Ubuntu-20.04 64 bit, cutting down the compile and build time by around 80%(2) rewrote the build image process, providing robust features with only 1/4 of the original code size and cutting down the build time by 2/3(3) rewrote much of the web front-end code, and added custom features, which was for configuration and management via a web interface on a PC/Laptop. (4) Added security features to the boa web server, enabled it to pass appscan and Nessus scan with no high vulnerabilities. I used some tricks without change of the server architecture.(5) Completed l2tp server/client features, enabling high-speed data transferring via l2tp channels to remote l2tp server. Using SMB to receive a big file from Windows, then by iptables, forwarding to remote l2tp server. (6) Corrected other bugs such as LED driver. (7) Enabled the device to successfully passed the entry test of China Unicom (one of the three biggest China's Telecom Operators).
