I started off my career as Junior Staff accountant 3 years ago I performed accounts payable, accounts receivable, performed general accounting functions and so on. And then, I moved to my current company working as an Accounting Specialist. My recent job revolves around the accounts receivable function, in which I learn that cash and revenue processes are complex. At Tides, I had to process checks, wire/ACH, incoming stocks and credit card transactions. I was responsible for recording and applying these payments to specific invoices or cash sales that we created. The unique part of accounts receivable function at Tides was that we had to identify where the money or payments belonged to because Tides manages over 150 non-profit projects. Besides this duty, I helped with month-end reconciliation to match bank statement with online platform report as well as disbursement report. Additionally, I also helped project accountants or projects research, analyze, and resolve accounting issues including preparing journal entries and coordinating with projects to assist them in creating online platform and donation pages. Lastly, I participated actively in the annual audit by working with auditors’ requests. I really want to step out comfort zone. I enjoy a reputation as a hard-working and dedicated employee. During my different working experiences, I have developed a strong ability of study on my own and adaptability, and I was able to adapt the new environment quickly and work under great pressure.
