I had the pleasure of being involved during the design detail and follow-up tender drawing phase of an A&A project . Being involved from start to finish in this phase allowed me the opportunity to prepare detailed and tender drawings, and provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the architectural design lifecycle and its crucial transitions.Moreover, I assisted in creating various diagrams and key visuals for other projects, which enhanced my ability to communicate complex design ideas in a visual yet simple manner. Dabbling in regulatory frameworks like Access and FSSD codes has also broadened my knowledge base, making me better equipped to ensure compliance and safety in design.

I handled creation of tender drawings for an additions and alterations works project. Said project gave me insights into navigating the rigorous world of structural codes and compliances, such as FSSD and accessibility codes. Having to deal with tumultuous site conditions greatly enhanced my capability to consider and respect the historical and physical context of each project.

I handled design prototyping, iteration, and creation of tender drawings for a Neighborhood Renewal Program (NRP) project. I also had the opportunity to participate in client meetings, engagements with civil/M&E engineers and site visits, gaining valuable insights into the real-world challenges and opportunities in the field of architecture. Through this internship, I developed strong skills in project management, design thinking, and communication.

I prepared and developed tender drawings extensively in both 2D (Autocad) and 3D (Revit), design sketches and renderings under the guidance of my mentor and colleagues. During my internship, I further improved my BIM workflow, rendering, graphics, collaboration and presentation skills and also developed a greater understanding of how an international global architecture studio operates and functions.

Post-Diploma, I continued my career with SAA Architects, expanding my involvement in a variety of projects in different sectors, including healthcare, residential, and commercial developments. I was responsible for a range of activities, from preparing design presentations and technical drawings.

As an intern at SAA Architects, I had the opportunity to work on the prestigious Woodlands Healthcare Campus project slated for completion in 2023 (CAA: 2017). My responsibilities included conducting site surveys and analyses, preparing design presentations and reports, and collaborating with other architects and consultants. I also had the opportunity to participate in client meetings and presentations, gaining valuable experience in client communication and relationship management. Through this internship, I developed strong skills in project management, design thinking, and problem-solving, as well as a deep understanding of the importance of collaboration and teamwork in the design and construction process.

Prototyped a working humanitarian shelter based on my final studio. Hands-on experience with building and testing various framed timber structures, a far cry from architecture theory in the classroom. Handled the design concept, construction drawings, and 1:1 physical prototyping of the structure. Eventual designed titled ' Shelter+' cinched first prize at the Build Eco Xpo (BEX) Asia 2017 for 'Best Green Space'.
