I served as Chief Technology Officer for a startup project conceived during a Brazilian national competition promoted by RENAULT, the car manufacturer, which gave us the chance to be accelerated at the Hotmilk Accelerator in Curitiba. Our solution focused on collecting vehicle data through the OBD port of vehicles using custom-built hardware, transmitting it to a cloud server, and processing and anonymizing the data to generate valuable insights for both car owners and broader analytics.In this role, I helped design the system architecture, integrating technologies such as MQTT for real-time data transmission, AWS for cloud infrastructure, and Python for data processing and analytics. I developed data pipelines using Apache Kafka and implemented data anonymization and security protocols to protect user privacy. also created a user-friendly dashboard using React and Flask to provide personalized insights to car owners, and a web-based database driven app using Oracle APEX, which required a migration from AWS to Oracle. Despite the project not reaching commercialization, it was a transformative experience that deepened my expertise in IoT, data analysis, data engineering and startup operation.
