  • Treva Corporation
    Senior Controls Engineer
    Treva Corporation Jun 2012 - Mar 2017
Treva is a small design house that allows myself to be involved in all aspects of a project. I am involved with quoting of projects, leading a team of designers, and interfacing with the customer to make sure all deliverables are met and shipped on time.Being at a small company allows us to constantly modify our processes to make the best use of our time and resources. We have been able to quickly adapt to the specific project needs to efficiently complete our work. As part of this, I have created many specialized spreadsheets that allow to work to be quickly generated or efficiently completed. This has lead to several successful projects. While our customer base is mainly automotive, we do not solely work on Ford/Chrysler/GM. We have worked with several Tier 1 suppliers, as well as, expanded out of the automotive industry to diversify our portfolio. I feel that this has kept me on my toes, always learning and working with new standards.
  • Comau

While working at Comau, I completed 1 Chrysler body shop from start to completion.I was a Technical Leader on the Chrysler PF body shop. I was responsible for interacting with the customer and leading the hardware design team of 10 engineers, as well as, coordinating with an outsource design company. The PF Body shop consisted of 8 main systems, approximately 40 PLCS, and over 450 robots. The system architecture was Rockwell Control Logix based with Ethernet and DeviceNet communications. After the hardware design was complete, I finished out the project as a PLC programmer, following the job from our build facility to the plant floor. After the completion of PF, I was placed onto the KL project to coordinate the design of the body side systems. These systems were outsourced to a design house and my job duties were to manage the design internal at Comau and to make sure that the design house had all the information they required. The body side systems consisted of 3 main systems that were later divided into 6 systems, a right hand and a left hand system.
  • Weldmation
    Software Manager
    Weldmation Nov 2009 - May 2010
While at Weldmation I had the ability to work on multiple projects. We build and commissioned several small cells for Midway Products. These systems were small, consisting of less than 10 robots, and ranged from trunion mig welding cells to robot loaded CNC machines. Each system was Control Logix based and EthernetIP communications.I was a key member on a R&D project Weldmation did for Quadrascan. We designed, build, and tested a state-of-the-art leak test system that used ultrasonic sound to not only detect, but pinpoint the leak. The system even had the added feature to be able to locate weak points and possible failure points. This project interfaced lab grade testing equipment and PCs running third party software databases to control logic processors. My role was in created a hardware standard as well as software development and debug.I also worked on a stand alone version of the system. This system was all PC based and the application was programmed in Visual Studio. I assisted in the design and installation of the first automated system for Cummins Emissions products. The system built exhaust components for large diesel trucks.I was the software lead for the Flex-N-Gate project. This system consisted of 6 main systems and several small subs. I developed the software standard for this project and lead a team of designers. I also took part in the design of the system. I then followed the project to the plant floor where I managed the debug team, interfaced with the customer on a daily basis, and managed changes on our 9 mainline PLCs and multiple offline cells.
