About Justin Buchanan

👋 Hey there, my name is Justin.I’ve been in Product Management since 2012. Since then have focused primarily on new product development, launching products, and moving quickly to test the waters with Minimally Viable Products. Experienced in both Scrum & Kanban development strategies, I believe in agility and iteration. Over the years, I’ve worked with a variety of businesses in different stages of their life cycles from pre-launch to growth stage to fully mature organizations while also supporting some of my favorite nonprofits in my down time. Graduating with a degree in Sociology during the Great Recession was difficult. Graduating with a MBA and concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Marketing during the Covid-19 Pandemic was even more difficult.As a product manager, I’m user obsessed. User research and A/B testing are some of my favorite parts of the job. A background in Sociology has been one of my favorite skill sets for product management. It provided a deep sense of empathy and curiosity for the user combined with the structured, rigorous, and scientific discipline of data analysis and both qualitative and quantitative research.As a former collegiate soccer player (and just like Ted Lasso) I BELIEVE in the power of positivity and working hard to build and maintain a productive culture and successful teams.To borrow a phrase from Ken Norton, I like to bring the donuts… 🍩Skills: data analysis, user research, user stories, product requirements, wireframing, market analysis, visual communication, presentations, video editingInterests: fantasy baseball, soccer, photography, movies, sketching, skimboarding, roller blading, hiking, vanlife
