I graduated from Kutztown University in December 2016 with a B.S. degree in Environmental Science. I am currently doing general contracting work in construction full time. Typical jobs include hardwood flooring, tiling, carpeting, painting, plumbing, framing, drywall installation, roofing, window and door installation, and concrete and masonry work, among various other types of work. The typical work day requires critical thinking and comprehensive skills to fulfill job requirements. Project deadlines demand thorough planning as well as troubleshooting skills to ensure completion in an adequate and timely manner. My decision study environmental science in college was fueled by my love and fascination for the natural world. Growing up, I was immersed in nature from a very young age and given the basic skills to identify native plants and animals. I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at 17. The years in scouting offered me the opportunity to complete numerous high adventure treks in places like Canada, New York, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania. These experiences also fueled my connection to the natural world. As i grew older I began to better understand the full scope of issues and challenges regarding our environment, proving to be another very influential factor in my decision study environmental science.Being a recent graduate, I am eager to get involved in the field of environmental science and begin my career. I am interested in environmental protection, remediation, and conservation as well as other related areas. I am also very interested and excited by renewable energy as well as transitioning to a more sustainable future.
