Serves as senior Natural Resource Specialist (Ranger) for the Project Office. Involved in all aspects of project operations including natural resource management, recreation and dam safety. Assists in the development and oversight of managing, conservation, protection and restoration of public lands and property. Manages environmental programs and projects consistent with ecosystem management principles.

Tasked with supporting wildlife community studies; individually and as part of a team. Conducted field surveys of birds requiring specialized experience identifying focal species. Sampled habitat features associated with focal species using various measuring techniques and equipment.- Located remote study sites utilizing compass, topographic maps and/or GPS unit, often in inclement weather and terrain. Operated manual transmission 4x4 truck on primitive dirt roads.- Implemented precise vegetation measurements and equipment; Trimble GPS, compass, range finder, DBH tape, clinometer, hypsometer. - Utilized VHF telemetry to triangulate cavity nesting species; facilitated capture, banding and monitoring of birds for ongoing forest usage studies.

Tasked with correcting, updating and maintaining the museums’ teaching and research collections and associated management databases; assisting curators by performing various preparatory and maintenance tasks on museum items; as well as assisting curators with research.- Trained on the proper methods of storing and processing a variety of specimens along with general care of properties of the research museum.- Assists in development of museum exhibitions methods and practices, including the development and implementation of museum exhibits and educational programs.- Functioning ambassador to present a wildlife museum as a scientific, educational and civic asset to the community.

Conducted primary literature review of mammalian presence within the Organ Mountain Desert Peaks National Monument, and subsequently developed a validation protocol for historic findings in the literature utilizing proven trail camera methodology targeting carnivores.- Conducted extensive literature search and review of historic and modern data, as well as sourcing from public databases to compile list of potential target species for survey.- Evaluated and implemented survey protocol focused around proven methodology, specifically targeting carnivore species. Evaluated camera trap success as well as inputting data on siting events of species.

Constructed, developed and executed camera trap protocol focused on endemic chipmunks in the Oscura Mountains, New Mexico to establish habitat needs and locational status of individuals. Performed thorough vegetation surveys to accompany camera placements, as well as fauna identification during photo analysis.- Designed, developed, and constructed study-specific mounts after completing research on camera types and selecting appropriate equipment for this study.- Aided in placement of traps, as well as collecting data of immediate surroundings to include vegetation identification using Dobbin-Myer frames and collection of DBH for appropriate species. - Developed data sheets and completed data entry for all camera traps, as well as species identification of fauna captured throughout the study.

Participated in various aspects of long-term studies of presence/absence surveys, nest monitoring, and habitat assessments for state and federally listed Southwestern Willow Flycatcher and Yellow-Billed Cuckoo along the Rio Grande Basin. Worked with supervisory personnel to coordinate efforts as required to meet project and protocol deadlines.- Supervised crewmembers, planned daily operations, and maintained compliance with safety protocols.- Ensured survey data records correctly annotated, conducted daily spreadsheet data entry and database management. Submitted weekly reports for database entry to facilitate long-term studies.- Employed GPS and map/compass skillsets to assist navigation of others in dense vegetation/harsh terrain. Conducted recovery operations of lost and disoriented crewmembers.

Assisted in studies for the U.S. Army’s Training and Doctrine Command to inform key decisions by Army, and Joint Leaders. Employed all components of the One Semi-Automated Force (OneSAF) interactive combat Simulation software in building Army Brigade or lower level scenarios.- Lead developer and trainer for OneSAF v5.0 unit composition and unit formations used in simulation runs, as well as testing and development.- Utilized broad working knowledge of Army tactics, techniques, and procedures (both doctrinal and experimental) to include current threat forces doctrine and tactics to best allow simulation forces to mimic real forces. - Conducted testing and troubleshooting within OneSAF 5.0 software; documented the results and shared possible solutions improving modeling software while communicating knowledge gained with cooperating agencies.
