I worked under the guidance and supervision of qualified P&C Technologists and Substation Technologists who work to ensure the safe and reliable operation of Alberta's Electrical Transmission Grid.During my time in this role I gained skills in the following:-Performing tests and setting changes on protective relays using Omicron and Doble test equipment.-Wiring of controls associated with the protective relaying of high voltage substations and transmission lines.-Interpreting electrical drawings related to substations and protective relaying. (i.e. Substation SLD's, SCADA block diagrams, DC logic, Schematic and Wiring diagrams. -Performing preventative maintenance on medium and high voltage substation equipment such as transformers and SF6 circuit breakers. -Safe work practices when working in proximity to medium and High voltages (25kv-500kv). -Experience using SAP and Excel for data entry and notification creation.
