Responsible for developing and implementing multiple strategies to elevate the profile and articulate the community-based institutional mission of Kentucky Performing Arts, the premier performing arts organization in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, across contexts and stakeholders to increase breadth and depth of funding, including new strategies for funding support, stakeholder engagement, re-envisioning design and use of development print collateral and certain digital strategies. Responsibilities included developing funding strategies for diverse portfolio of national partners and certain high-level individual donors, and developing strategies and communications for on-going capital campaign; primary responsibilities included maintaining a $1.2 million portfolio of grant funding, including strategies for renewing multi-year funding relationships, proposing and negotiating terms of varying aspects of those funding cycles; identifying and developing cultivation strategies for new funding from national institutions and, over a longer cultivation cycle, individuals residing outside the Commonwealth of Kentucky; additional responsibilities included the development and implementation of strategies to further increase the profile of the Actors Theatre brand on the national stage and the cultivation of stakeholders with national profiles, including the development of an alumni program for the Professional Training Company, an apprentice program with nearly 50-year history. Additional responsibilities included drafting communications for Artistic leadership in varying contexts for varying audiences to ensure clear delivery of the theatre’s mission and artistic goals.

Management and supervisory responsibilities for all aspects of complex litigation on behalf of investment banking and corporate clients, including managing trial strategy, preparation, and execution as well as motion practice and discovery process. Specific responsibilities included development of case management and trial strategy, taking and defending depositions, and development of expert discovery, summary judgment strategy and directing and supervising research and analysis to support all aspects of litigation. Responsibilities also included advising clients concerning U.S. Department of Justice Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations. Specific responsibilities included developing defense strategy and general advisory services to international corporation in connection with a Department of Justice grand jury investigation, and providing management and advisory services to a foreign manufacturer operating under an FCPA deferred prosecution agreement. Additional responsibilities included providing advice to stakeholders in foreign jurisdictions concerning U.S. legal issues, including advising an international banking institution concerning a Commodity Futures Trading Commission investigation; assistance with all aspects of New York litigation in connection with South African corporate client’s defense of hostile tender offer; management of New York litigation against Uruguayan trading company on behalf of European division of U.S. investment bank; advisory services concerning the termination of a European product manufacturer’s distribution relationship in Japan; analyzing potential intellectual property litigation strategies for European bio-medical developer against U.S. distributor; providing U.S. litigation advice to Russian investment bank concerning the regulation of foreign banks under US law; providing litigation risk analyses in various transactional contexts for various European financial and corporate clients.

Assisted in all aspects of defense of complex derivative transaction litigation, and all aspects of trial preparation and execution in complex commercial litigation trial, including the preparation of direct examination outlines, and drafting of pre- and post-trial memoranda. Served as primary draftsman for motion practice briefing and appellate work on certain cases. Responsible for development and implementation of European document collection process and factual development with respect to European events in defense of securities fraud class action litigation.
