RESPONSIBILITIES: Moomoo Technologies Inc. offers the moomoo professional trading app that helps investors make better decisions with level 2 market data, advanced tools, social insights, and access to commission-free trading. As Spokesperson I answer media requests for interviews and comments on the moomoo app in both the US and Canada; serve as US media contact for the parent company Futu regarding its US/China policy; publish thought leadership pieces on investment strategy, regulatory issues and other topics; help market the moomoo app through podcasts, videos and webinars that spread our message; and represent moomoo at conferences and public events.In my strategy role I identify new investment trends and products, and provide insights on how moomoo can leverage them; conduct surveys and analysis to aid customers in attaining their goals via moomoo’s technology, while building their trust; gather insights on our company, customers, product and competition to guide decision-making, identify new opportunities, assess risks, and help shape our overall marketing strategy.RESULTS: Since joining the company my contributions have helped boost moomoo’s brand awareness, increasing our competitive Share of Voice by over 10 percentage points. As an example of the visibility we enhanced, at the MoneyShow TradersExpo in Las Vegas in April 2023 my presentation on zero days to expire options drew a standing-room-only crowd of investors. I also led the creation of a quarterly survey of 900+ global moomoo users that yielded actionable insights into their financial views and habits. As a result of these efforts and more, moomoo received the Best Trading Platform Award from FinTech Breakthrough in 2022.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Working in Bloomberg’s equities division, I wrote, edited and reported breaking news on stock moves, derivatives, M&A, activism, and market indexes. I was the sole reporter tasked with delivering advanced data-rich content on equity options, and shared my time creating exclusive content with two news divisions: Bloomberg’s financial website and the Bloomberg Terminal subscription service. RESULTS: Among stories that I broke and topics I researched and reported on that helped our readers and subscribers make sound investment decisions: a piece correctly predicting a short-term market spike; another naming top contenders for potential openings in the S&P 500; candidates for inclusion to NASDQ 100 benchmark; and others. The reputation I built as a respected financial journalist and accurate prognosticator of market developments led to my being hired by moomoo to promote their leading-edge trading app as Vice President of Strategy and Spokesperson.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reorg is a global provider of credit intelligence, data and analytics to professionals at leading investment banks, law firms, hedge funds, and corporations. My primary task was writing and editing The Catalyst Portal, a daily column delivering commentary and analysis on companies making news in the M&A and activism space. I also trained and identified coverage opportunities for younger journalists at the company and helped develop products for our pre-deal and activism team. RESULTS: The Catalyst Portal was closely followed and acted upon by its readership, sometimes moving the stocks I covered hundreds of billions of dollars. The ideas and mentoring I provided our journalists served to improve the quality of our content and diversity of topics we covered. As a result, the reputation and respect I gained in the industry led to my being recruited as Equities Reporter at the Bloomberg organization, and thereafter to my role in promoting the leading-edge moomoo trading app.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Dealreporter is a real-time equities news and data service for fund managers and investment banks. Leading The Morning Flash team, I researched, wrote and edited articles offering timely insights, analysis, commentary, and actionable ideas in the areas of M&A, shareholder activism, capital allocation, special situations, and breaking financial news. I provided ideas, analysis and supporting research for other journalists’ stories, and wrote and appeared in financial subject matter training videos used by employees globally.RESULTS: Under my leadership, long-term vision and marketing efforts, The Morning Flash developed into “must-read” content, consistently ranking among the most read of all the company’s website publications. Many of my pieces sparked heavy trading in the companies I covered. My interviews with subject matter experts and panel discussions at industry conferences were developed into propriety content for Acuris (our parent company) subscribers. I also contributed to the vision and framework of the new Acuris product “Activist Monitor”.

RESPONSIBILITIES: TradeTheNews.com is a next generation financial markets intelligence community which marries live audio analyst squawks with real time headlines. My role was to report on breaking, market-moving financial news to our retail buy-side and sell-side European clients. From 11pm each night to 10am in the morning, I would aggregate and analyze global headline stories affecting everything from equities to fixed income securities, providing insights that helped investors make informed decisions.RESULTS: Operating effectively in a fast-paced market environment where accuracy of information was paramount, I rewrote, edited and fact-checked incoming news stories, reviewed Street research and noted analyst actions, and provided my readers with insightful statistics and trading ideas that would inform their investment strategies. I also wrote an original news analysis column giving perspective on current stories and their impact on financial markets. Developing these skills prepared me for future roles as a financial journalist, commentator and market forecaster.

Working independently as a US Equity Trader through companies like Worldco Financial Services and Hold Brothers LLC, I traded NYSE and NASDAQ issues on an intra-day basis for my own proprietary book. I initiated swing trades with a 2 to 21 day time horizon, and used technical analysis, momentum, tape reading, company-specific news, and economic data in making profitable trades.

As Foreign Currency Options Trader at Prudential-Bache, I was responsible for making markets for G-7 currency pairs for all Far East clients, as the firm’s sole Asian time-zone trader.

At UBS, as Foreign Currency Options Trader I made markets in all G-7 currency pairs for salespeople, interbank market movers and brokers, and oversaw all exchange operations and employees as floor manager. In this endeavor my trading accounted for over 20% of floor volume in currency options and averaged $500,000 in profits per month.
