The focus of my current role as Principal Engineer at Apartment Therapy Media is steering our technical architecture and leading our team by example towards engineering excellence. I've been instrumental in implementing a Pub/Sub microservice architecture to reduce system coupling and improve performance, as well as making significant and tactical code debt payments across all our codebases. My myriad contributions to our DX/tooling and CI/CD systems has made our entire team more productive and efficient by establishing robust patterns and surfacing code quality issues before PR review. The numerous zero-downtime migrations I've led have been successful and seamless thanks to thorough unit and integration test suites I've championed. My technical and leadership skills have grown significantly in this role and I'm looking to use them to tackle a fresh challenge alongside a talented and empathetic team.
