I am a rising junior at Tufts University, double majoring in Political Science and Environmental Studies (under the Environmental Science B.S. track) and minoring in Entrepreneurship.My professional career thus far has taken me to diverse places and allowed me to gain experience across industries-- some examples:- Presenting on NBC a local voter turnout solution I designed- Creating executive summaries for the Westchester County executive- Working as a paid comedy writer in Boston- Commercially fishing halibut in Alaska and advocating for sustainable fisheries- Farming and hosting events on Long Island - Hosting a concert for a startup based in BostonWith extensive hands-on experience in county/local politics, environmental conservation, nonprofits, and media, I am deeply committed to driving communication, equity, and collaboration within diverse organizations. I strive to emphasize the power of effective communication and the need for equitable and collaborative approaches to achieve shared goals.This summer, I was selected as one of the Alaska Conservation Foundation's Ted Smith Conservation Interns. The objective of the Ted Smith Conservation Internship Program is to match interns with host organizations, providing interns with practical job skills and an introduction to conservation in Alaska while also supporting the organization in meeting its conservation goals. I will be working with the Alaska Longline Fishermen’s Association (ALFA) in Sitka. I will be monitoring data collection efforts related to ALFA’s decarbonization efforts on fishing vessels, supporting the Community Supported Fishery, Alaskans Own, and Seafood Donation programs, and creating outreach/communication assets.
