Cyber Risk Consultant
Service Analyst
I originally joined the Fuji Xerox as an intern to develop a report to streamline the process of analyzing customer profitability. In order to achieve this I was responsible for creating data sanitation and validation as well as building queries to accurately represent KPIs. Having success with this initial project I was asked to return to expand the project by building additional reports for other aspects of the business including supply chain management and engineering performance.
Residential Advisor (Ra)
As an RA my primary role was to develop a community that would foster students’ wellbeing and academic success. Within my building there were approximately 350 students, and approximately half of those were international students. Of this population, I was responsible for roughly 50 students each year. Having students who came from such diverse backgrounds meant I needed to have a good understanding of our cultural differences if I wanted to foster meaningful relationships and help support them throughout the year. This included organizing and hosting various events throughout the year that were designed to give students the opportunity to address difficulties they might have been experiencing, including financial troubles and physical and mental health issues. While sometimes challenging, I found these relationships to be one of the most rewarding aspects of my job.Outside of my personal group of students I also had other responsibilities. These included answering student queries, supporting first year RAs, acting as a role model for the student community, crisis management, organizing accommodation-wide events, and building maintenance. In order to do my job successfully it was necessary to be reliable and have exceptional communication, problem solving, time management, and leadership skills.Despite the demanding nature of being an RA, my overall experience was highly rewarding because of the positive changes I saw in the student community and the ways in which it allowed me to strengthen my ability to empathize and communicate with people, especially those coming from unique social and cultural backgrounds.
Summer Assistant
My role as a Summer Assistant was to provide support to the residents living in my building in a similar manner to the work I did throughout the school year as a Residential Advisor. Additionally, I was expected to fulfill various administration duties including overseeing the reception area and responsibilities, resolving any maintenance issues that arose after-hours, and preparing the rooms for the upcoming semesters. With students moving in and out throughout the summer this job required a lot of communication between me and the other summer assistants, as well as good time management to ensure the building was ready for the new arrivals.
