Currently, my team's portfolio includes mental health and addictions care; maternity care; supporting members introduce justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) into their work, physician wellness, education on remuneration, among other areas. I have been honoured to bring my combination of collaboration, strategy and delivery to such a dedicated and passionate group of physicians, including being part of launching the CBT Skills Group Program to Vancouver, which has already supported over 1,800 patients in Vancouver gain critical mental health literacy and support. The Centre supports and delivers learning experiences for UBC students in and with community. In most academic years, 5000 students were involved with over 400 community organizations. I managed a team of nine who delivered a suite of the Centre’s educational programs (signature programs such as the Trek and Reading Week programs) with an annual budget of $540K. An equal portion of my portfolio was providing overall leadership for the community engagement activities of the Centre.

As a business services co-op, I consulted with an array of agencies on issues relating to strategic planning to feasibility/business planning for social enterprise to small and large-group dialogue facilitation (in particular open space formats). I managed the bulk purchasing products of the Co-op, lead membership development, hired and supervise staff, and managed a number of the Co-op’s sector-wide initiatives.

I provided staff support for the Roundtable, which was a coalition of stakeholders interested in creating an enabling environment for the variety of actors within the broad social economy. Roundtable members included non-profit organizations and associations, financial institutions, funders, co-operatives, community economic development agencies, and social enterprises.

Volunteer Canada is the national voice of volunteerism, advocating for 12.5 million Canadian volunteers. Originally hired to promote their online volunteer matching service (the Volunteer Opportunities Exchange website), my role quickly expanded to include managing all of their online communications and their stakeholder communications.

Volunteer Richmond is a multi-service agency serving a community of 175,000 people. There I managed the volunteer and information centres, along with the Christmas Fund program, a staff of two along with a team of volunteers, and an Our Millennium project.
