If you've been to the grocery store, received mail through the USPS, eaten shrimp, drank anything out of a can, or have tires on your vehicle, you more than likely have touched something that has been on one of our products. - Worked with a small team to bring Intralox.com and a number of other Laitram web properties up to modern web standards- Created and updated pages utilizing Kontent.ai as a headless CMS with a Gatsby front-end- Implemented Storybook to increase code documentation and the ability to share standards between departments

The Innovator's Workshop at Bricolage provides a space for students to explore, play, and learn through making. Students are encouraged to use the design thinking process to identify a problem they want to solve, and then are given the tools to create their solution. While this role is drastically different from my past work in software engineering, it lets me bring all of my experience to the table and get the next generation of students excited about all of the things that they have the power to create! - Built curriculum from the ground up to facilitate four unique year-long classes that covered topics such as advanced manufacturing, intro to coding, and design thinking- Managed a class load of over 225 fifth through eighth graders- Successfully secured funding to expand the school's prototyping lab to include a X-Carve CNC

iSeatz produces digital tools for major travel brands to help their customers book a wide variety of services, such as hotels, flights, and cars. As a senior software engineer at iSeatz, my role largely focuses on finding ways to make our front-end development process more efficient. I joined iSeatz in the middle of a multi-year refactoring effort, and was quickly thrown into the mix of figuring out how to radically modularize a large system used across our client list.- Led a small team to produce a proof of concept project in order to illustrate alternatives to current development processes that resulted in a drastically reduced turnaround time- Mentored and pair programmed with junior devs to create highly reusable components for multiple partners using React and Redux Saga with a microservice-heavy back-end- Identified opportunities to enhance the codebase such as improving the testing standards in Jest and Enzyme, and working towards complete documentation of the codebase

As the technical co-founder of the startup I was in charge of prioritizing and building all technology-focused features for our IoT environmental control unit. I primarily worked on Nissan’s web properties, but also worked with other major clients like United, USAA, and Kohler.- Worked with a small team to build and maintain features for Nissan’s commercial vehicle site on a Java-based stack that utilized the Grails framework- Led a refactoring effort that decreased the complexity of Java-based controllers by transitioning pages to a standardized MVC pattern created in Backbone.js- Decreased repetition and variation in the codebase by converting duplicated Javascript files to components using Flight.js and Require.js- Increased the autonomy of front-end devs on multiple teams by implementing and evangelizing the first Gulp.js workflows in Critical Mass’ Chicago location
