Villa Maria is the largest family owned winery in New Zealand and also the most awarded. In my role as Category Analyst I was responsible with providing analytical support to the Sales and Marketing teams focusing on the domestic market.This involved using data from different sources (Nielsen / Aztec scan data, supplier data and market research) to identify growth opportunities, provide insights and recommendations to the business. Tasks included: data analysis, reporting, forecasting, NPD support, identifying business development opportunities, insights.

Central Asia, South America And North America

A five month trip to Central Asia (China, Tibet and Nepal), South America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Columbia) and North America (USA and Canada). I resigned from my previous role for this trip.

This involved providing insights into customer behaviour with a view to identifying new business opportunities and assessing the impact of different marketing strategies.To be effective in this role I needed to develop a broad knowledge and understanding of the key drivers of business success. I interacted with a wide variety of internal stakeholders to formulate briefs, create methodologies, undertake research & analytics and present the findings and recommendations. My role involved undertaking research projects to help the organisation better understand the industries and make more informed decisions.The role required an in depth knowledge of the various industries and an understanding of the tertiary education sector, particularly vocational education and training. It involved utilising both quantitative and qualitative research techniques, right through from brief to presentation.

It involved both administrative functions and a number of special projects.I was in this role for 6 months until a role was created for me in the research team.
