After spending 15 years in various management roles in the food service industry, I decided it was time for a change... So, building on my background in Psychology(B.A.) and User Experience Design(M.S.), I packed my bags and began my journey as a Salesforce Administrator in the best place I could think of: The Salesforce Trailhead. With each challenge completed or badge earned I realized that the Salesforce Platform, is how I can reconcile the things that I value with the demands of the business world. Specifically, its how I can facilitate empathy in business processes and have a positive impact on relationships and user-experience..Through the proper implementation of org-wide defaults, profiles, roles, sharing rules and permission sets I ensure that all users, from the CEO all the way to the new sales intern, have access to the information they need to do their jobs effectively.By designing custom objects, fields and page layouts, I simplify data entry to a single form and ensure the resulting information is presented to users in a meaningful and interactive way. All while behind the scenes, the tools such as validation rules are set to ensure data integrity and automated processes are triggered to check whether various criteria are met and whether to initiate updates or other changes to related fields. These processes can also automate actions like drafting a billing invoice when an opportunity is won or sending an email to a service agent when a new case is queued. Even the approval process for requests/submissions can be automated to make sure a request meets all criteria before being sent to correct approver. In Sales situations, I can automate the process of converting leads to opportunities and define how they are assigned using assignment rules. Additionally, I can assign these opportunities to marketing campaigns to gain valuable insight into campaign influence. This data can then be utilized to design and schedule, self updating reports that summarize your data, or highlight the relationship(s) between fields and records in a more visually descriptive way. By combining various reports on a sales reps page layout I empower them to quickly access customized information to improve productivity and gain insight into their business relationships. Finally, through the use of collaboration tools like chatter, I can follow up with the sales team on their usage of tools and provide help documentation or make improvements if needed.
