Wilderness Africa was our trading and marketing name for our custom safaris lead and designed by our group of professional safari guides

I was involved in the start up of Sokwe Limited in 1989. Initially this meant all aspects of starting a safari business in Tanzania from hiring and training personnel, setting up stores, bookings, marketing, book-keeping, liaising with National Parks and other government institutions. Sokwe Ltd became a leading luxury mobile tented safari company in the 90s employing about 50 people.In 1992 I was Operations Manager of the company. In 1996 I left Sokwe Ltd and started Wilderness Africa.Sokwe continued to perform well, and eventually was hired by investors of Asilia Ltd to advise and manage their camps. This evolved into a merger.
