I worked directly with the company’s owner, assisting him in managing the inventory and operations in the four store locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Managing inventory involved updating each store’s computer system with optimizations, performing price adjustment based on market values, and balancing the amount of stock on hand between locations. I supervised approximately twelve employees and made sure that all store locations were able to perform at their very best. With my employees I focused on encouraging them to perform their job in an honest way and to interact with customers in a friendly manner.

I operated and maintained a welding robot in a manufacturing plant that built chairs for schools and busineses. There I was required to hit daily quotas and operate at a quick and efficient pace. Along with keeping the machine's welding components maintained, I also had to ensure that the integrated computer system was operating correctly. I had to make regular adjustments to the programmed routine to account for variances in the metal parts and to fix the machine unavoidably falling out of calibration. I also assisted many of my co-workers that had less affinity with working the robot’s computer system.

At GameStop I was a Shift Leader and Key Holder. Soon after being hired I was chosen to oversee the store being relocated. The relocation required arranging the new store’s layout and installing marketing elements; along with getting the store’s inventory completely stocked and entered into the computer system. There I helped lead a team to meet established performance metrics. Our store regularly led in percentage based performance in a competitive district. The priority of metrics was customer satisfaction and loyalty, while helping a diverse customer base.

I was a Key Holder who regularly manned this independent mall video game store by myself. The main focus of the job was to answer customer questions about the products and facilitate sales transactions while keeping the sales floor stocked and organized. I also used my knowledge on the products to process customer trade-ins and provide value quotes. This video game store chain sells products for all video game consoles ever released dating back as far as the 1970s. Working with this large assortment of products required extensive knowledge of over 40 years of video game history relating to the technology, the industry, and the art form.
