The short bio: I'm a producer and director of photography at Frontage Road Studios - enjoying my family, work, and life in my beautiful town of Carpinteria, CA. Just an hour out of LA and 15 minutes outside Santa Barbara, I'm privileged to collaborate with people, companies and agencies that want to do good for the world.And here's the long bio...Entertainment and media is in my DNA - my grandmother worked at Republic Pictures in the 1930’s and parents met while working at ABC in 1960’s.For the past 20 years I've been upholding the family tradition - from working as a camera operator in Hollywood and earning a Film Studies degree at UCSB to working on major motion pictures, directing feature documentaries, and producing videos for national brands.I mentored with my father, Thomas Rowe, a Local 600 International Cinematographers Guild camera operator, for the first 10 years of my career. I worked my way up through the trades as a video camera utility, lighting grip, boom operator, sound mixer, and camera operator for network television and cable outlets such as CBS, NBC, FOX, Animal Planet, Court TV, and the Outdoor Life Network. I then went to work on feature films such as The Princess Diaries, Sweet Home Alabama, Old School and Euro Trip at Walt Disney Pictures and Ivan Reitman’s Montecito Picture Company. Working within a major studio and at an iconic comedy director’s production company gave me invaluable experience at the highest levels of global media production.I have produced and directed two feature documentaries that premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The Aphrodite Project explored the healing aspects of art when faced with a cancer diagnosis and Crazy Art told the inspiring stories of three schizophrenic artists.Creating award winning videos for corporate clients such as Patagonia, ABC-Clio, AGIA and Deckers and non-profit clients such as Postpartum Education for Parents and Ventura Hillsides Conservancy, I bring my well rounded experience and knowledge of media production to every project I am a part of.In 2013, my production company 10 Toes Over joined forces with Michael Warner and Pacific Sun Productions to create Santa Barbara's most dynamic video production company: Frontage Road Studios. We've been collaborating ever since. Some of our favorite projects involve working with organizations and brands that are striving to make the world a better place. This includes Public Service campaigns in English and Spanish, branded content and case studies, all designed to inspire and educate.
