About Justin Freeman, Shrm-Cp

I am a senior at the C.T. Bauer College of Business at University of Houston working towards obtaining my Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management. My interest in human resources grew organically beginning with my work experience in hospitality management where I discovered an affinity and aptitude for working with people to create a better workplace. The deeper I delve into my studies the greater my passion grows. I hope to share that passion with the organization I end up working with.I had the opportunity to work in the hospitality industry for over 6 years, 2 and a half of which were in a management role, where I gained experience working as part of a team and leading a group of employees. In my role as Front Desk Manager I collaborated with my General Manager to create and enforce policies that improved efficiency, customer service, and employee morale. I also assisted in an ongoing renovation process to improve the premises and stay in compliance with brand standards. During my time as manager, sales revenue doubled and customer surveys and corporate inspections placed our property amongst the corporation's top 10%.I've been a member of several student organizations, which helped raise money for the community and the school itself. I held many responsibilities in these organizations including being the Member Relations Director for the UH chapter of SHRM.I have excellent interpersonal skills, which allowed me to be successful in the hospitality industry where I developed a reputation for customer satisfaction as well as maintaining great relationships with clients and colleagues. My verbal and written communication skills are strong as evidenced by my Honors Composition and Rhetoric credits as well as my Distinguished Student Award. I am proficient with computers and am well-versed in Microsoft Office.
