COFIDES S.A. (a member of EDFI, European Development Financial Institutions, an association of 15 bilateral institutions operating in developing and reforming economies). It is a joint public / private company that provides medium and long term financial support for viable private direct investment projects in foreign countries. The ultimate aim is to conduct profitable business that contributes both to the host country’s development and the internationalization of Spanish enterprise and the Spanish economy. COFIDES has a financing capacity of Euro 1.000 Mn. Since its inception: more than 470 investment projects approved in 65 different countries. Reporting to the Investment Director.  Leaded teams to analyse international projects and to decide the financing in terms of acceptable risk-return trade off. Analysis of investments and equity stake in a broad scope of projects abroad proposed by SMEs to IBEX-35 stock exchange companies. More than 30 contracts signed with only 2 in default now.  Member of some Boards of Directors of the companies invested in our portfolio. Recent projects: two bio ethanol plants for ABENGOA in the USA; two wind farms for ACCIONA in India; desalinization plants for ABENGOA in Algeria and China; a toll-road in Chile developed by SACYR.

GRUPO CORTEFIEL is one of the top retailing brands in Spain (Cortefiel, Women’s Secret, Springfield), IAS net sales of Euro 1,000 Mn. Acquired by three equity firms in 2005 (CVC, Permira and Pai). It operates in more than 30 countries through subsidiaries and franchises. Reporting to the CFO.  In charge of the control over the operations and the results of the subsidiaries and the factories abroad. Established a new reporting method and appraised the homogenization of accounting methods.  Processed the monthly report for the equity firms on the evolution of the KPI of the Group, under IAS. This entailed coordination with the Accounting, IT, Internal auditing and Operations Departments.  Assisted the CFO in daily tasks. Analysis of the monthly performance of the cash-flow statement  In charge of the pursuit of the covenants’ compliance arising from the different financing resources (syndicated loans).

 Reporting to the Partner.  Prepared and presented reports to venture capital and private equity investors in order to help them take the investment decisions. Advised on the main issues to take into account in the negotiation with the target company and structuring the financing of the acquisition.  Collaborated with the Forensic Department in litigation investigations as an independent expert.  All of the above, coordinating a team of 2 to 5 people.

 Reporting to the Manager.  Audited medium-big sized business (Procter&Gamble, Renault, SGS, Daikin, UNICEF offices in Spain),  Reviewed different areas and completed auditing guide programs.  Special assignments: report to the headquarters, compliance reviews, tracking of the accounting process.
