Demonstrate and explain lecture content to 1st and 2nd year Computer Science students, covering a range of concepts including Data Structures & Algorithms, Databases and Object Oriented Programming, using Java and C++. Responsibilities include being available for questions during students practical classes, carrying out administrative duties and marking students projects/class tests.

During my placement year at ARRIS, the company was acquired by Commscope. My responsibilities within the team remained the same for the duration of my internship.

ARRIS Belfast are an industry leader in video and broadband technology, developing Conditional Access Systems (CAS) and Digital Rights Management (DRM) software for both managed and unmanaged digital television networks.I have completed one year of professional experience as a placement software engineer with ARRIS. My responsibilities within the team included carrying out bug fixes, maintenance and development of automated tests, design and implementation of an internal tool to aid the CIT effort and writing a suite of bench-marking system characterisation tests. During my time at ARRIS I was able to develop my skills with multiple programming languages and concepts, including C++, Python, Linux, End-to-end automation and I had the opportunity to experience the full software development lifecycle delivering large scale software releases to clients.
