I am passionate about reducing disaster risks and improving disaster resilience to improve health outcomes. I want to contribute to the understanding of risk reduction strategies through my work as an academic scientist and as a public health worker. My interests are disaster planning, preparedness, effective response, and recovery by engaging community participation. As such, I have a keen interest in working with community that gives them a voice and visibility to contribute to risk reduction and resilience to protect their health and well-being. My other areas of interest are disaster or climate-related infectious diseases, indigenous technology, and disaster mental health and well-being. I have pursued the aforementioned interest as a volunteer in the Australian Red Cross. I have also garnered skills and knowledge from my qualification and part-time and casual roles during my doctoral degree. I possess advanced technical and transferrable skills and I am confident to implement them in any type of role in the disaster, climate change, and public health areas.
