During my time with the Kassal Group I undertook theoretical research in the field of condensed matter physics. I wrote software to investigate, numerically, the effects of including delocalisation to models of organic solar cells. We showed that including more than a small amount of delocalisation leads to an increase in the free-energy barrier to charge separation, disproving existing theories and confirming the need for further investigation.We presented our work to local and international conferences and published in the Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters.
