As an Electrician work-study student at the University Center for the Arts at Colorado State University, I assist in the maintenance and up-keeping of multiple lighting fixtures throughout our building and venues. These fixtures include both intelligent and conventional lighting fixtures for theatre. I am also responsible for installing, setting up, operating and striking all lighting equipment for each theatrical, dance or opera performance done within our university. I operate lighting consoles for focus, performances, and other projects, using consoles such as an ETC Ion and an ETC Gio. While in this job I handle heavy equipment and road cases over 50lbs, as well as am on my feet for multiple hours per day.

As an Audio Visual Technician at the Lory Student Center at Colorado State University; I set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment used for live events. Equipment includes microphones, video cameras (Canon), projectors (Crestron), lighting (ETC ION, Paradigm), and sound equipment (QL1). I work events with up to 1500 attendees. Guests can range from students to staff, to the school president, to guest speakers (past speakers include: Eva Schloss and Julia Gillard) and more. I work either by myself or with up to 6 coworkers and supervisors during event setups and takedowns, as well as during the events themselves. I work anywhere from 1 to 15-hour shifts depending on the events for that day. I have also worked for both outdoor and indoor events.Different job tasks during an event include; lighting designer/board operator, sound operator, projections operator, stage manager, switcher operator, and camera operator.

As a Carpenter work-study student at the University Center for the Arts at Colorado State University, I am able to read and understand drafting packets provided to me, I can create precise cut lists, maintain safety measures and precautions for myself and others, build stud walls, platforms, and organically shaped scenic pieces, as well as being able to assemble and take apart sets at the beginning and end of productions. I have built scenery for opera, theatre, and dance productions. I work with two supervisors and up to three coworkers at a time. During strikes, I help manage the cast and crew of the production and ensure that everyone is safe while providing information and instruction. I consistently lift, move, and rearrange items over 50lbs either within our shop or in the warehouse.Equipment/supplies used in a normal workday includes; jigsaw, table saw, impact driver, drill, brad nailer, radial arm saw, cold cut saw, CNC, etc.

Kids Do It All (KDIA) is a Summer Camp for children taken place at Colorado State University at the University Center for the Arts for six weeks out of the summer. As the Technical Director, my job is to teach the children attending camp art and painting skills. Throughout the week it is also my job to organize and sort paperwork and documents, create cardboard props and set pieces to the director's request, using matte knives and a jigsaw, and I provide mobile, completed prop and set pieces for the final show at the end of the week, for which I help as apart of the backstage crew during rehearsals and the final performance.
