As Project Coordinator for the Community Planning project I was the primary point of communication between staff in the Boston office and community stakeholders in Fond-des-Blancs, Haiti. I organized community workshops with upwards of 75 participants, provided oral and document translation, and used information collected from these workshops to inform further workshops and ultimately the project report. The major deliverable of the project is the Community Planning Report. I researched and provided content on the existing conditions of electricity, waste management, water systems, telecommunications land ownership, focusing on Haiti, the Southern Department, and the Fond des Blancs Commune. I also contributed historical content to the report, translating the few available texts from French to English and executing an oral history project documenting the experience of several elders in the village. Using Adobe InDesign I contributed to the design and editing of the final report.Because BHI is a quickly growing operations, I used my skillset to jump into other projects that improved company operations. I created workflows, delegated responsibility, and streamlined the HR and recruiting process and wrote content for the many BHI projects to be used on the new website.

Managed the Visitor Residence and supported the Chief Operations Officer for a hospital serving over 100,000 Haitians each year in rural Southern Haiti. During my time at St. Boniface Hospital, Hurricane Matthew struck Southern Haiti. As a result my initial role of Residence Coordinator grew to include the additional role of Logistics Coordinator to compensate for increases in staff, visitors, donations, and health programs. As Logistics Coordinator I was the first point of contact for hospital staff (clinicians, maintenance team, supply chain team, communications manager) needing to address operations and logistical needs. My primary responsibility was to quickly provide solutions or escalate the situation if necessary. In assisting the COO I tracked, oversaw, and followed up on hospital improvements. In my role as Residence Coordinator I provided 24/7 support to all visitors and residents living and working on the hospital campus. As the hospital is located in a rural, off-grid area, I sourced all food, water, gas, and other supplies as well as arranged suitable transportation. Each month I organized and hosted high-profile donors or visiting aid delegations. In my spare time I made daily rounds through the hospital, interviewing patients and staff and translating their testimonials from Creole to English for press releases, media posts, and grants.

My principal responsibilities included conducting all new hire orientations concerning health care, retirement options, safety procedures, and compensation and helping complete H-1B visas. Secondary to these tasks, I tracked recruitment trends in Seattle startups for the HR Manager. I managed all office supply procurement and logistics and organized weekly morale events, represented Skytap at career fairs, hosted all hands meetings, organized company events and ensured remote employees felt involved. When Skytap outgrew their first office, I coordinated the expansion, construction, design, and move to a larger space.

Researched and represented sustainable initiatives in Indiana legislature. In response to Forbes Magazine ranking Indiana the 49th greenest state, innovative civic education students began the Depauw Environmental Policy Project (DEPP). As a member of DEPP, I and five other students attended the 2012 Indiana General Assembly in order to target and track committees and bills related to the renewable standards, energy and utilities, agriculture, and welfare assistance. We collaborated with legislators, industry officials, and environmental organizations to discuss the long-term effects of these bills and to compile information to present fact-based testimonies before the General Assembly. Through social media and bi-monthly newsletters, we publicized Statehouse proceedings and decisions. As a major side-project, I researched and drafted the “Traditional Energy” chapter for our book “The History of Environmental Policy in Indiana”.
