Since taking the class my junior year in college, I have been working on and off as a public speaking TA for the Stanford University E103/E203 Public Speaking course. My role entails teaching basic to advanced public speaking skills, leading small group lessons/practice, and conducting 1:1 coaching/consulting. My students range from freshmen to PhD and MBA candidates. The class is a full course from the very basics of voice and stance to the intricacies of formal professional presentations. Students learn how to organize and write speeches, analyze audiences, create and use visual aids, combat nervousness, and deliver informative and persuasive speeches effectively. Weekly class practice, rehearsals in one-on-one tutorials, and videotaped feedback.

Maui

I returned home to the Island of Maui where I spent 7 months doing event coordination for the Hui No'eau Visual Arts Centers (a nonprofit community-based visual arts education organization). My main focus was putting on their largest fundraiser - a one-night event titled "Art Affair". I coordinated all aspects of event planning, design, and production - raising just over a quarter-million dollars through tickets, donations, and a live and silent auction. I also spent half the year embarking on the journey of my dreams. I traveled through California, Hawaii, Eastern Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand, and New Caledonia.

On the client side, I worked closely with the leadership and key decision-makers to help build their executive leadership teams. On the candidate side, I built relationships with the top VP and C-level talent in the San Francisco Bay Area to help identify the best next steps in their careers.
