Partnering with the Managing Director to provide the financial data required to enable informed commercial decisions around the business globally. Working within the executive team to drive and grow the business; ensuring processes are streamlined, efficient and value driven. During my tenure, I implemented systems at a product level, including change management and training for a new ERP system, resulting in real time information and full visibility to be utilised across the business.Highly engaged in implementing several processes across the company to improve the calibre of commercial decisions, information flow and employee engagement with the Financial and qualitive consequences across the business. Re-structured the finance team to allow a more dynamic approach to business finance complementary to the needs of the business based on a belief that the modern-day finance department can add commercial value if fully integrated into the business; allowing for more accurate forecasting, reduced financial risk and allows the leadership team to focus on growth, basing decisions on high quality data and information as the financials include the operational context.

Covering the UK and US based companies. I oversee the project finance team responsible for revenue recognition, budget forecasting, final account reconciliations and event profitability analysis. I am responsible for the P&L, balance sheet & management reporting with heavy involvement in provision of Statutory Packs, Audit Reviews & commercial budgeting and forecasting plus managing cash flows and continued sales data analysis.Responsibilities include:• People Management – responsible for the resource planning, motivation, engagement, management and development of my direct reports to create and maintain a high performing team.• Training – Offer system and process training related to project finance (including Tax advice) to staff across all areas of the business, from holding workshops to one-on-one guidance.• Project Finance – oversee the team to ensure system reporting and revenue recognition is accurate, from initial implementation through to final client reconciliations and profit margins meet expectation. As such liaise closely between my team and project managers, plus other areas of finance to ensure company processes are followed.• Monthly Finance Reviews – Run meetings with MD and Sales / Operations Managers to ensure we are on track to achieve revenue and profit targets on a job to month basis.• Reporting Systems – Ensure finance packages operates accurately & liaise with Finance Systems Team to resolve problems and implement new reporting to achieve company goals.• Month End – Full P&L and Balance Sheet reviews and reconciliations, responsible for all journals and accruals plus analysis to variances to budgets. To submit a management pack to the board for each division with full analysis of month activities.• Year End – Management Reporting plus working closely with the MD to produce detailed cost and sales budgets for the following year. Working closely with external auditors for all Project and Balance Sheet queries under my remit.

Financially manage and analyse a total of 23 clinical trials, predominantly to understand and prepare forecasts, including a high level revenue forecast for individual regions within each study. Liaising with project managers and ops finance to ensure that change orders are calculated and executed, checking and process pass through expenses (Accounts Payable) and ensuring payments are made in a timely manner. Ad-hoc tasks include collating timesheet data, reconciling hours worked and generating meaningful revenue formulas based on costs, as well as preparing investigator invoices (Accounts Receivable) and ensuring that the funds held within my studies are sufficient to cover outgoings. A large element is the ability to train and mentor junior colleagues and home based staff to ensure the team’s goals are achieved efficiently and accurately.

As a project accountant I was responsible for the South West divisions; liaising with the client account managers to review the finances for each of their projects so as to submit a monthly report to the board regarding the performance of the group as a whole., Perform corporate deliverables to a tight timetable such as monthly aged backlog and revenue variances. Monthly performance analysis on each cost center to be submitted to the board for review. The role entailed detailed analysis of budgets and forecasts and relied heavily on an ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.

Purchasing and Sales support administrator; the role focused on daily tasks of processing purchase, sales and works orders. Other duties included re-sourcing for stock shortages and quoting on new projects where communication between customers and colleagues alike is critical.
