As a Substitute Teacher at Twin Hickory my day to day varies on the needs of the school. I substitute for Pre K to 5th grade level students. On days where no substitute teaching is needed, I help around the school by assisting teachers with printing needs and other office work. I lead instruction, follow teacher’s notes, implement the students regular schedule, and ensure the overall well being of all students.

I nanny for a family with a 7 year old son and a 10 year old daughter. My role is to care for them by preparing meals, implementing educational time, creating stimulating activities, and driving them to their extracurriculars.

I help run events hosted by Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens by checking the layout, posting signs, and working with clients.

As Alpha Sigma Alpha’s social chair I am expected to create good relationships with other organizations on campus, plan social events with other organizations, and host private events for our sorority. In my most recent semester, I created a budget for the costs needed to host two large events along with smaller events. I factored in costs of decorations, music, tools, and event rental fees. I give this role a lot of my time by communicating event details to my sorority, gathering input from members, coordinating with event spaces, staying within my budget, and making events memorable.

I created content for the VCU baseball Instagram that showed the players as relatable and personable.

As an after-school staff member I was expected to care for elementary school aged children. My role was to facilitate snack time, create games, help during homework time, interact with children during recess, and overall keep the children safe. I worked closely with second grade students.

As social chair of the VCU club field hockey team I created infographics and videos, posted on the Instagram account, and collaborated with other sport’s social chairs.

I worked many roles at the restaurant, Esoteric. I started as a hostess and was later promoted to a server position. My favorite role was working events in our separate space. My job when working a private event was to read the layout of the event and dinner scheduling, set the plates out, take orders, run orders, and clean up the event. It was also important to make the experience seamless and great for the client.
