em Magazine is an Emerson College student-led publication. During my time as the visual arts director for em Magazine, I coordinated and planned visual pieces with each staff artist to suit the theme of the issue. I met with each artist to discuss their pitches, offering constructive feedback and ideas while taking the creative vision and autonomy of each artist into account. I assisted in the curation and timely execution of the artwork, ensuring each piece aligned with the creative direction of the executive board.

Atlas Magazine is an Emerson college student-led publication. During my time as the editor in chief and head designer for Atlas, I developed and curated the magazine content, coordinating the production and publication of the Mythology issue, which was released in Autumn 2022. I strived to offer a growth environment for all staff members and executive board members, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and self-expression. I planned and organized various staff and department meetings, checking in routinely with section heads and ensuring that all necessary deadlines were met. I streamlined communication and provided regular deadline reminders for staff artists. In addition to my administrative responsibilities, I assisted in the coordination of various photoshoots and events necessary to completing magazine projects, often showing up on set to be an extra set of hands. I created the magazine page layout, coordinated the fulfillment of various types of written and visual content, and executed the design of the issue in collaboration with staff designers. Following the production of the issue, I successfully facilitated the publication of hundreds of copies in addition to planning a joint launch party for the issue with Gauge Magazine. (Former positions include staff writer, staff photographer, photo director, and managing editor, with participation in the publication beginning in 2019 and ending in 2022 upon graduation.)

During my time as the editorial intern at The Quarto Group Northshore, I was able to hone my editorial skills while familiarizing myself with the various stages and aspects of publishing nonfiction books. I compared lasers to confirm the implementation of changes, ensuring accuracy and consistency. I identified and flagged errors and maintained house style. I facilitated author communications and applied author changes. I proofread and copyedited files and manuscripts in accordance with the house style. I identified, corrected, and communicated grammatical, structural, and factual errors. I created and organized art logs. I slugged and coded manuscripts with attention to detail. In addition to my editorial and production related responsibilities, I entered metadata for books prior to publication in order to accurately and effectively convey the contents and subject matter of the work. I was responsible for organizing and naming files according to their purpose and their recency. As a learning opportunity, I conducted acquisitions research in trending fields, in addition to identifying potential authors and performing market research. I proofread, cut, and refined reprint texts for New Shoe Press, an emerging imprint of The Quarto Group.
